Brazilian Macaé, Single Origin.

A robust, unique, and indigenous cacao from one of the rare coastal regions in the world where cacao grows naturally.

This month, we are introducing our new arrival of grand cru cacao from Brazil. This cacao grows in the coastal region of Macaé. It is a one-of-a-kind cacao, as it is endemic to one of the only coastal regions where cacao grows and is watered by rains laden with sea salt! Its soils also have the particularity of being richer in mineral salts than other places where cacao grows. This gives it a deep aroma on the palate, more pronounced tannins, and an almost red color, like a good wine;)

Macaé is located a short distance from the Atlantic coast. This makes it one of the lowest altitude regions in the world, averaging 300 meters, where cacao grows naturally!!! Its ochre and saline soils make it a land with marked tannins that are clearly felt in the cacao. Its richness in minerals makes it one of the most nourishing cacaos in the world, with less fat than Amazonian cacaos, for example.

You will find it available in 3 weights for purchase: 150g to taste it for the first time, 240g for your enjoyment throughout the month, and 500g for the big foodies who love to share!!!
