CHF 20.00Price
This cacao grows in the fertile valley of La Convención, in the heart of the Cusco region, in Peru. Nestled between the foothills of the Andes and the first Amazonian forests, this land is a vibrant transition zone, rich in biodiversity and ancient memory.
Cultivated using agroforestry, the cacao grows in the shade of banana trees, mango trees, and medicinal trees. It is harvested by hand by a local family that maintains a sacred relationship with Mother Earth (Pachamama).
This Cacao is made from 100% Criollo beans. Criollo is considered the noblest and oldest variety of cacao. Cultivated for millennia by the indigenous peoples of South America, it is now very rare, representing only about 5% of global production.
